LTK

Recently approved by the Food and Drug Administration, LTK (Laser Thermal Keratoplasty) is a safe and effective, no-touch, 3 second procedure for the correction of low to moderate hyperopia (farsightedness). The technique involves a painless application of laser energy outside the viewing periphery of the cornea. Dr. Sandra Belmont participated in the development of the procedure over the past 6 years, as the only principal investigating surgeon in the northeastern United States for the Food and Drug Administration. Since that time, and following FDA approval of LTK, Dr. Belmont has successfully performed hundreds of these procedures at Weill Cornell Medical Center. Presently, there are over 77 million Americans over the age of 40 who are candidates for LTK.
